Crystal Caliburn II

Crystal Caliburn II is a pinball game designed in the style of multi-ball machines, featuring three-dimensional ramps and fast-moving balls. With strong flippers to compensate for steeply sloped playing surfaces, this game provides a challenging experience.

Our design goal with Crystal Caliburn II was to create realistic ramps and reproduce the feeling of shooting balls up ramps at high speed. We also aimed to challenge players with the gameplay mechanic of three balls in play simultaneously. Mastering the techniques for managing two and three balls at once presents a significant difference.

To achieve high scores in Crystal Caliburn II, players must strategically decide which combination of features is most effective with the current playfield. We encourage you to first play without reading the game rules, and then read them and try again. This will introduce new ways to enjoy the game and enhance your experience.

Arthurian Legend and Caliburn

King Arthur, the most famous of English kings, is believed to be a real historical figure who became the subject of many legends. Orphaned and unaware of his royal lineage, Arthur proved his rightful claim to the English throne by pulling the sword named Caliburn - also known as Excalibur - from a stone. This mythical feat could only be accomplished by the true king.

King Arthur and Queen Guinevere wisely and justly ruled the kingdom from the castle of Camelot. There, the most daring and chivalrous knights of the realm gathered at the Round Table. They embarked on adventures, battling monsters and acquiring magical treasures. Throughout Arthur's reign, Merlin, a powerful sorcerer, served as his mentor and constant presence.

However, as time passed, the golden realm of Camelot fell into decline. To save the kingdom, Arthur and his knights set out on individual quests to obtain the Holy Grail - the greatest mystery associated with eternal life. Meanwhile, civil strife troubled the land, culminating in the Last Battle caused by Mordred, Arthur's illegitimate child.

In this final battle, Arthur was fatally wounded as he struck down Mordred. Instructing Sir Bedivere to throw Caliburn into the lake, an arm emerged from the water to claim the sword. As it was thrown, the arm swung it three times before disappearing into the depths of the lake.

Bedivere then took the dying Arthur to Avalon, the land of immortals and also known as the Glass Island. Accompanied by the fairy queen Dame du Lac and Arthur's half-sister Morgan le Fay, a witch queen, Arthur vanished from this world. According to legend, he will one day return to life and resume his rule over England.
